Maron Galama studied civil law (1995) at Leiden University with a specialization in the Intellectual Property field. She has obtained considerable expertise in the field of the filing and prosecution of trademark and design applications worldwide. Maron is an active member of several network groups within the region. In addition, she is an active member of the Benelux Association for Trademarks and Designs (BMM), in the capacities of secretary of the Legislation Commission and chairperson of the Consultation body for the Opposition system in the Benelux (Klankbordgroep Opposities). She is also a member of the European Community Trademark Association (ECTA) and of the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI). Moreover, she is a guest lecturer at the Design Academy Eindhoven on Intellectual Property for the benefit of designers.
